Hi Litetravellers, we’re back with another update today.
Before anything else, we still have 35 backers who haven’t completed their surveys. That means we will have to postpone the production for the 35 incomplete surveys until a later date. We appreciate your help filling it in as soon as possible. If you’ve already filled in your survey, you’re all set.
SMOL Production Update
By now we are all aware of how the global conditions changed in the last 5-7 months because of the restrictions imposed across many industries by covid-19. The pandemic brought about some delays in different areas of our manufacturing process (fabric production and processing, accessory supply such as zippers, pull tabs, etc.).
In our previous updates, we shared how our timeline had not been majorly impacted by this situation. However, as time went on, we did begin to feel the impact of the pandemic more than we had expected.
The timeline we had set to start the production stage for the SMOL Kickstarter batch was at the height of the pandemic worldwide. While we anticipated challenges (as we always do to make sure that, even if some bumps in the road do happen, we are still able to deliver on time), we could have never anticipated an international lockdown and the disruptions imposed on our processes. At the time when we ended the campaign on Kickstarter, the virus was just spreading across countries and the pandemic reached a very high scale just as we neared our production stage.
This resulted in an unexpected 6-8 weeks timeline extension for our Kickstarter production, which also impacted our Indiegogo timeline since it depends on the completion of our Kickstarter production batch.
Next Steps
We understand that for some countries, the winter season has already started. We assure you we don’t take your patience lightly and we’re doing our best to expedite things as much as possible.
We know some of you have been with us since our first campaign here on Indiegogo and as you know, we’ve always delivered on or ahead of the set timeline. We couldn’t be more thankful for your continued trust and support.
We’ll share the latest about our progress through our campaign updates in the next 2-3 weeks. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we do our best to go through the process as efficiently as possible.

Hello LiteTravel friends, we’re back with another update.
Before we go into details, we still have 43 backers who have not completed their BackerKit surveys. If you’re one of the 43 backers with incomplete surveys, we appreciate your help in filling it out as soon as possible so we can include your reward in the next production batch.
Production Update
As of this writing, the production of the SMOL Kickstarter rewards is complete.
We’re now in the final process of Quality Assurance inspection and packaging.
Because these last rounds of Quality Assurance inspections are crucial, our progress is a bit slower than usual in order to give both our factory and our inspectors ample time to go through the rewards without rushing in this important stage. These important inspections will also be maintained for our Indiegogo production batch. They have helped us iron out many kinks, so we expect the next production batch to be smoother and more time-efficient.
We know you’ve been waiting for your SMOL to arrive and we appreciate how patient and supportive you’ve remained through the delay.
We’ve always maintained a good track record in delivering our rewards on time. The global situation in the past months threw an unfortunate spanner in the works and this was something we never could have anticipated from the start. Despite this, we continue to do our best through all production stages so we can manufacture and deliver all rewards at the level of quality you expect to receive from us.
We will share a new update soon with our latest progress and a firmer date for our production stage. We’ll do our best to go through the stages as efficiently as possible and we’ll make every effort to reach the fulfilment stage for all our Indiegogo backers as soon as possible.
At the moment we’re focusing all our efforts on completing the remaining inspections and packaging all rewards ready to be sent to the fulfilment centre so we can then move to the production of the Indiegogo rewards.
Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated by the entire LiteTravel team.
We included a brief video from the production line. These are just a few of the rewards that have successfully passed all quality assurance inspections and are waiting to be packaged and shipped out to our fulfilment partner.
Orders Are Now Locked
We’ve already locked all orders as part of our production preparation. This will help us finalise the counts of all rewards that will be included in this production batch.
That said, we can no longer accept changes with your reward details like your SMOL size and colour mix, or remove or add any of your selected add-on items.
To give you a bit of insight, fabrics will be cut in bulk depending on the size count included in each survey to speed up production. We will also order the fabrics based on the final count for each colour mix.

Production Timeline
A few of you have asked about the production timeline. As we initially planned, our estimated timeline for shipping and delivery was this month. However, due to the current global situation, we encountered a few delays with the delivery of all the raw materials (the fabrics, zippers, and other accessories, etc) for production.
We assure you that the delay we experienced was unprecedented and is not aligned with our usual production performance. Your patience and understanding of the situation are greatly appreciated.
We’re now getting ready to wrap up the production of all Kickstarter rewards in the next 2-3 weeks and we’ll kick off the production of all Indiegogo SMOL rewards. That said, it’s very important that you fill out your survey as soon as possible so we can include yours in the first production run.
Production Progress
Through the production stages so far, we’ve conducted multiple Quality Audits during which we’ve ironed out any possible kinks so we expect the next production batches to run smoothly.
We would like to share with you a quick sneak peek on our current SMOL production batch.
You can see below some fresh pictures and a video with the SMOL rewards being made.
Please note that the colours in the pictures depend on the brightness and contrast settings of your screen, as well as the conditions they were taken in (very bright artificial lighting tends to make colours appear lighter than they are in reality, etc.)
Shipping Timeline
As soon as production is completed, our factory will conduct a pre-shipment inspection followed by our own quality assurance inspection. Both inspections are processed separately to give us as many opportunities as possible to ensure that your SMOL is created at the high level of quality you expect.
Once all inspections are completed, all rewards are packed and shipped to our fulfilment centre for processing.
We always do our best to be as conservative as possible in setting expectations. We assure you that we’re doing our best to go through the processes as efficiently as possible. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
A new update will be posted in the next 2-3 weeks so please make sure to keep an eye out for it so you’ll know when to expect your SMOL.

Dear LiteTravel friends, we’re back with another update.
By now you might’ve already noticed that our InDemand campaign has ended. We want to take a moment to say “THANK YOU!” for believing in SMOL and for supporting yet another LiteTravel campaign.
Over the next period, we will focus on manufacturing and fulfilment to ensure all of our backers will receive their SMOL.
We’ll continue to keep you up to speed with our progress through our campaign updates, so please make sure to keep an eye out for it.
All Surveys Are Out
We’ve sent out all of the BackerKit surveys and the great majority of you have already filled in your BackerKit surveys. Thank you for being so prompt!
However, around 8% of our backers, 65 to be exact, have not filled in their surveys. If this is you, kindly fill in your survey ASAP so we can include you in the first production run. If you can’t fill in your survey ASAP, we won’t have your reward details like your SMOL gender, size and colour mix so your reward will unfortunately have to be included in a future production batch.
If you aren’t sure if you completed your survey, please check your inbox for the email confirmation you would have received upon completion.
Survey Deadline: July 27
The deadline for filling in your survey is Monday, July 27th. Please complete your survey to let us know your reward and add-on selection, plus your full shipping details.
Why is this important? We need to finalise all the counts so we can start the production of your SMOL. We will rely on the items that you choose in your surveys, so we’re counting on your help to make sure that we finalise everything as soon as possible.

Hi there LiteTravellers, we hope that you are having a wonderful week. We are back to share with you our latest production update.
In a previous update, we shared with you that the production of the golden samples is underway. This step is the most crucial part of our production stage because we need to make sure that these samples follow all the details for SMOL with precision.
After we approved the pre-production samples, the factory then proceeded to work on the golden samples which will set the standards for the mass-produced SMOL rewards.
SMOL Golden Samples
We are very happy to let you know that the SMOL Golden Samples are 100% finished. We are now in the process of carefully reviewing every detail before we kick off mass production.
All the materials and fabrics needed to start the mass production have also arrived in the factory and we anticipate we will be ready to begin manufacturing of all Kickstarter rewards.
As promised, we are including below a few pictures with the golden samples along with pictures of the other components needed for the production of SMOL.
New Backers
For our new backers, you will receive your SMOL BackerKit survey 11 days after placing your contribution. The survey invite will go to the email address connected to your Indiegogo account.
If you don’t receive your SMOL survey 11 days after placing your contribution, check your Spam and Junk folder just in case it ended up there. If you still can’t find it, you can retrieve your survey here: https://smol-indiegogo.backerkit.com Simply fill in your email address and the invite will be sent once more to your inbox. Use the same email address as the one you provided on Indiegogo.
BackerKit is the pledge management platform that we’re using to collect your reward preference and your shipping details.
